New Jersey to Pass Online Gambling Bill

By Slots Guy on December 17th, 2010

Everything is looking good for the state of New Jersey and their plan of becoming the first State in the country to allow online gambling, including online casino games such as bonus slots and table games and several forms of sports betting. Just this past December 13th, Senator Raymond Lesniak’s sponsored online gambling bill and sports betting bill was voted unanimously to pass by the New Jersey Assembly Committee. Things are pointing in the right direction for both pieces of legislation and hopefully they will be passed and become law in the state of New Jersey before the end of 2010.

The online gambling and sports betting bill that has been unanimously voted on could allow New Jersey residents to place online wagers in casino games and sports betting events, but has been revised to prohibit international gamblers to partake in the online betting. New Jersey has now to sit and wait patiently for a maximum of 45 days until Governor Christie decides whether to pass the bill or not.

According to several different sources, the Governor is leaning heavily towards accepting this bill and pass it into law in order to help the weak Atlantic City gambling Mecca and overall the New Jersey economy. This new law will basically allow for Atlantic City casinos to offer an online versions of their casino games to the residents of New Jersey. Senator Lesniak believes that by letting brick and mortar casinos market their different brands of casino games on the internet, they will consequently generate millions of dollars that the state would highly benefit from and would give the casinos a new chance to grow with their new product that is extremely marketable and profitable. The residents of New Jersey couldn’t be more happy with this Intrastate gambling proposition since they too want their state to move forward.
